This policy explains how Rae collects, uses, and shares information when you use Rae devices, apps, websites, and related services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, such as contact and account details, reminders, routines, household notes, family connections, and messages sent to support.

We also collect information needed to operate and improve Rae, such as reminder acknowledgements, device and app activity, settings, approximate location derived from an IP address, and diagnostic information including device type, software version, network status, and errors.

3. Voice, microphone, and camera

Rae listens locally for its wake word. Audio is processed for a response only after Rae is activated or during an active reminder. Rae does not save audio recordings by default.

Rae has no camera. It is not designed as a remote listening device. A physical microphone switch lets you turn off the microphone at any time.

4. How we use information

We use information to set up and provide Rae, deliver reminders and family updates, answer questions, support users, process purchases, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, improve features, and comply with legal obligations.

Selected family members may receive practical updates, such as whether an important reminder was acknowledged or missed. Rae does not provide them with a feed of private conversations.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • people you choose to connect through Rae;
  • service providers that help us host, operate, secure, support, and process payments for Rae;
  • authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and
  • a successor in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of the business.

6. Retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed to provide Rae, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices

You can update certain account, reminder, family, and household information in the Rae app. You can turn off the device microphone with its physical switch.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information. To make a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

8. Children

Rae is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Rae changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the date above.
